Underneath the shell sits a powerful TRD NASCAR V8 engine that displaces 358 cubic inches and delivers a cackling 680 horsepower at 8500 RPM. And yes, before you ask, the engine is fuel injected, not carbureted, and uses distributorless ignition to light the fires. Making it street friendly meant adding A/C, power steering, and a reliable serpentine belt system, which makes this car as comfortable as a stock Camry in the day-to-day grind.
Now with video...

What he lacks in taste he makes up for in power. Also, why a camry? There are so many other choices!

Toyota should build Camry's like this but price them around/under $35K. Then I would want a Camry.

...strong connections between your NASCAR efforts and your street cars, there’s no better way to do it than to build a show stopping custom. And when you’re a company like Toyota, the end result is a stunning Camry that packs NASCAR-levels of horsepower in a gorgeous 2-door coupe body. Built in cooperation with TRD...

If I had money I would buy this, then remove that weird red thing, and then modify it even more for drag racing and then use my ultimate sleeper to make people cry
![]() 02/07/2014 at 22:34 |

Pretty hard to make it a sleeper with an exhaust note like that..
![]() 02/08/2014 at 03:40 |

Repaint it in the "factory stock" Toyota gold, and trollolol everyone. All the while screaming, "Pushrods FTW!!!!"
![]() 02/08/2014 at 03:41 |

It could be a sleeper if you agree on a bet and shake hands before you've started it in the parking lot...

This was a SEMA car from 2010 or so.
They tried to sell it for $400K a few years ago.

"Street friendly" probably doesn't mean street legal. I guess someone would have driven more than 17 miles after it was built if this would be street legal.
I don't understand these SEMA custom cars. Modified Camry still looks 90% like standard Camry. It might look better but it still an unusable show car that's 10 times more expensive than a Camry. Maybe fast but not beautiful or worth much more than the parts it has.
